CBH Q-Type Storage Roof Removal

Structure overview:
The Q-type storage at Cascade was built in 2004 and subsequently sealed in 2008. With steel structural support, tin walls and roofing the facility is 228.66 meters in width, 42.69 meters in length, and 17.83 meters in height.
Due to deterioration controlled atmosphere fumigation has become problematic, causing the need for refurbishment.
Scope of Works:
Mainline was engaged by Q Design and Construct to complete the removal and off site disposal of:
- existing roof
- curtain wall
- gable end wall cladding and fascia flashing
- gutters and down pipes
on the CBH Q-type Storage at Cascade
Equipment deployed:
- Straight Boom Lift – 25.9m
- Scissor Lift – 13m
- Full Body Harnesses & Equipment
- Various Tools
Operational Challenges:
Due to inclement weather works were regularly stopped. The Mainline team worked safely and efficiently to ensure the works were completed on time with no incidents.
