Ord River North Bridges

Location: Great Northern Highway, Halls Creek to Kununurra, WA
Duration: December 2024 and August 2025
Scope of Works
Mainline was engaged by Main Roads WA to demolish three existing bridges along Great Northern Highway between Halls Creek and Kununurra.
The demolition scope encompassed:
- Demolition of two reinforced concrete road bridge – Frog Hollow Creek and Tickalara Creek – including:
- Footing/Column down to creek bed level or water level
- Bridge Abutments
- Bridge deck and attached furniture and structure.
- Stockpile demolished bridge material at embankment adjacent to bridge bank
- Demolition of reinforced concrete road bridge – Arthur Creek – including:
- Demolition of deck/beams (entire superstructure)
- Demolition of piles
- Footing and abutments to be left as-is
- Stockpile demolished bridge material at embankment adjacent to bridge bank
Equipment Deployed
- 36-tonne excavator with demolition attachments
- 20-tonne excavator with demolition attachments
