UGL Geraldton Fuel Tanks Demolition

Scope of Works:
Mainline was engaged by Taylors Engineering to demolish two redundant fuel tanks at ATOM, Geraldton WA. The scope included:
- Demolition and removal of two disused steel fuel storage tanks
- Tank GN-17: 23m diameter by 20m high
- Tank GN-14: 20m diameter by 18m high Fuel
- Internal framing and concrete foundations
- Conduct all work without any harm to the environment or adjacent assets
- Confirm de-energised status all energy sources to enable safe demolition.
- Confirm all substances that can contaminate the environment are removed, e.g, hydrocarbons
Equipment deployed:
- 220-tonne excavator with bucket, ripper, cutting tool and grapple
- Semi trailers for scrap removal
Project Highlights:
- Conducted during live operations, requiring close attention to detail during demolition and loading processes
- Project completed with zero incidents and zero harm to the environment
- >99% recycled or repurposed
